My Professional Journey

Barclays

- Full-Stack Software Developer

Jun 2023 - Present

Architected & implemented high-performance web apps and robust microservices using a diverse stack (Angular, React, Java, .NET 8, Python, DBs). Led DevOps modernization, migrated legacy .NET services and 50+ projects to CI/CD with zero downtime. AI/ML and Gen AI initiatives delivered substantial time reduction and millions in financial benefits.

Medical College of Wisconsin

- Full-Stack Java Developer Intern

Mar 2023 - May 2023

Designed and developed the Gene Binning tool for the Rat Genome Database Portal using Spring/VueJS. I created integrated statistical dashboards that yielded a 65% reduction in manhours and optimized Oracle/Java services, cutting the data response time from seven hours to just 12 minutes.

University of Wisconsin

- Graduate Teaching Assistant

Sep 2022 - May 2023

Guided students on 3 core CS courses: Programming Language Concepts (CS431), Operating Systems (CS557), and Advanced Object-Oriented Programming (CS552). The instruction focused on critical concepts including syntax, semantics, process/memory management, and advanced design patterns.

University of Wisconsin

- Google Developer Club | Android Lead

Jan 2023 - May 2023

Led the university's Google Developer Student Club as the Android Development Lead, responsible for mentoring students and designing hands-on workshops focused on Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and reusable Android components, thereby fostering a technically proficient Android developer community on campus.

Kyyba Innovations

- Software Developer Intern

Jun 2022 - Dec 2022 & Jan 2020 - Dec 2020

Designed and developed a modern omnichannel digital platform for a client using Java, Spring, REST APIs, and MySQL for core logic. Front-end was built with React JS and the Webix-Javascript library, translating UI/UX into code. Ensured quality via JUnit testing and bug fixes. Separately, developed a web application front-end using ReactJS and TypeScript, and built Java microservices with REST APIs. Codebase modernization and OOP optimization improved performance by 55%.

What People Say

Tian Zhao

Sharath was my Teaching Assistant for my programming language concept class. He is one of the best TA I have had. He works every quickly and efficiently in grading students' assignment. He develop testing scripts to run students submissions with well formatted rubrics. He requires minimal supervision to get the job done quickly and cleanly. I also attended Sharath's master thesis defense and was quite impressed by his work on emotion classification and intensity prediction on Tweets using machine learning approaches. I highly recommend Sharath to any potential employer because he is intelligent, efficient, and also a good communicator.

John Boyland

This student is one of the strongest international students in our program; he took compilers from me, which few students do. He did well and overall has a very high GPA. I would recommend him for any software development position.

Jay Bayne

Sharath is an excellent Computer Scientist, one skilled in Senior/Graduate level concepts and related software technologies. He has served as a Teaching Assistant to several of my classes on Operating Systems, with focus on Windows, Linux and MacOS compute platforms. In this capacity Sharath exhibited a polite, responsive, and professional manner while providing clear and concise help to graduate and undergraduate students of Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. It has been a great pleasure to know and work with Sharath. I strongly recommend him.

Logan Lamars

I have worked with Sharath during his internship with the Rat Genome Database. His ability to adapt and learn some of the genomics showed he is willing to go the extra mile to make a tool that fits the curators description. The tool he created will be beneficial to the curators by making the assignments of genes to an ontology and its children more efficiently. Sharath was willing to present his masters thesis to our team and was impressed by how he used machine learning to classify tweets by emotion and how intense they are. I highly recommend Sharath to an employer who is looking for someone who is willing to learn and adapt to environment he is brought into.
